| Holiday Meme. |
I saw this meme over @ Heart Of Rachel & knew she wouldn't mind if I played too - thanks Rach 
 1) Egg Nog or Hot Chocolate?.. I would have to say Egg Nog!
2) Does Santa wrap presents or just sit them under the tree?.. Both of my children tell me that they are too old for Santa  but back when they were little ones, Santa always wrapped the presents.
3) Coloured lights on tree/house or white?.. I am a 'christmas lights-a-holic'  I just love them! I have coloured and white, and musical lights as well!
4) Do you hang mistletoe?.. Sadly we don't have any real mistletoe  but we do hang some fairly realistic looking 'fake' mistletoe.
5) When do you put your decorations up?.. Usually during the first weekend of December - we'll be busy this weekend! 
6) What is your favourite holiday dish (excluding dessert)?.. This is an impossible question for me to answer! I love the salads, the fruit platters, everything!!
7) Favourite holiday memory as a child?.. I have so many holiday memories that I cherish - I just loved the feeling of Christmas as a child - the love that seemed to be in the air - the fun of sneaking under the tree with my sis, late Christmas eve when everyone else was sleeping - visiting Nan & Grandpa on Christmas eve - helping Mum prepare the food while listening to her favourite Boney M Christmas album - sitting outside, searching the night sky for the biggest star, convinced it was the star of Bethlehem. My list of favourite memories is honsetly endless
8) When and how did you learn the truth about Santa?.. I was quite young - it was when I recognized that Santa's handwriting was very similar to my step fathers 
9) Do you open a gift on Christmas eve?.. Absolutely! It is a tradition I started on my son's first Christmas
10) How do you decorate your Christmas tree?.. Decorating of the tree is something my children love to do on their own - though I help them with the lights and the actual erecting of the tree. My son is a real sweetheart, he always loves to help his sister reach the top of the tree to put the star in place
11) Snow! Love it or Dread it?.. I've never experienced snow  though I often find that "I'm dreaming of a white Christmas" It will happen one day - God willing!
12) Can you ice skate?.. I've never tried!
13) Do you remember your favourite gift?.. I'd have to say that my favourite gift as a child was a xylophone, I just loved it!
14) What's the most important thing about the holidays for you?.. The most important thing for me is to keep it real. It's sad that the true meaning of Christmas is becoming lost amongst the dash to get the right gifts, and all the other seemingly 'important' things to do. I always make sure that my children don't forget why there's a Christmas - it's important that they first remember Jesus and spend some time in prayer before they go under the tree. It's so sweet to hear them wishing Jesus a happy birthday, and thanking God for everything
15) What is your favourite holiday dessert?.. My Mum's pavalova
16) What is your favourite holiday tradition?.. In childhood it was always a tradition to visit with Nan & Grandpa on Christmas eve. Mum would cook a delicious meal, Nan would make yummy toffee's, and we would stay there til after dark
17) What tops your tree?.. A huge gold star! When I was a child it was always a beautiful angel dressed in gold, with a halo above her head and a star in her hand.
18) Which do you prefer - Giving or Receiving?.. Giving! Without a doubt! It is such a blessing to be able to give to others.
19) What is your favourite Christmas song?.. I love Christmas songs just as much as I love Christmas lights, if not more! If I'm pushed to name a favourite, I'd have to say it would be O Holy Night - I get tingles every time I hear it

Let's talk about holidays... Depending on where you live and what religion you are, you may celebrate different holidays and at different times of the year than others. But most of us do celebrate at least one holiday a year. Let's share!
1. Which of the holidays that you celebrate, do you feel is the most important?.. Christmas & Easter! - sorry I won't choose just one
2. Which holiday do you most enjoy?.. Christmas!
3. Is there one holiday that your family tries to get together every year? If so, which one?.. My family fell apart several years ago There are a few member who refuse to be in the same place together, which is really sad. So there is no time when my family gets together - but one day this will change, I pray.
4. Share one special memory from a past holiday.. Every Christmas from my childhood holds special memories - I can so clearly recall one of my sisters always talking me into sneaking out of bed on Christmas Eve, just to take a peek under the tree. The house we grew up in was very old, with loudly creaking floor boards! It's funny how quickly we learned where to place our feet to make the least amount of noise possible. I also remember the year when the Christmas tree fell over (it was a live Christmas tree that year) - my sister was convinced that the loud thud was Santa 'crash landing' in the front yard! It wasn't until morning that we found the tree on it's side, and water everywhere! That was the year we received our very first doll's house that our step father had made himself, and our Mum had made all the dolls and furniture. I also received a xylophone - it was my most precious possession for years! I could honestly sit here for hours, recounting all the tales from past Christmas's - I can still recall all the precious old ornaments, the gorgeous nativity advent calendar - they just don't make things the way they used to!
5. Name one holiday coming up, that you're really looking forward to, and why.. Christmas, of course! This will be the first Christmas that my children & I have spent together with hubby/Dad - and it will be his first Australian Christmas! I'm really excited about it!

Thirteen Things I Am Thankful For..
1) I am thankful that I am a child of God - I honestly can't imagine my life without Him. I praise the day that my heart was opened to receiving Jesus as my Saviour.
2) I am thankful for my Husband. I have never felt so complete, so loved and so accepted. He is my precious treasure. Every day that I wake up next to him is a gift.
3) I am thankful for my children. I am blessed beyond my worth, having received the gift of two precious angels.
4) I am thankful for my Mum. She has been an ever present source of support, encouragement, and love.
5) I am thankful for my friend Shannon. God works in mysterious ways, and He was surely up to something when He caused our paths to cross. Shannon is a huge blessing to me.
6) I am thankful for my sight. I realize what a blessing it is to be able to see the world around me.
7) I am thankful for being able. All my limbs are intact, and are working as they should, for this I am extremely thankful and grateful.
8) I am thankful for the strangers I pass in the street who take the time to smile and say hello. It's amazing how such a small thing can brighten the day.
9) I am thankful for my pets - I love them all so much. My life would be so empty without them.
10) I am thankful for being alive.
11) I am thankful that I have been taught the true meaning of love - learning the difference between human, selfish love, and agape love.
12) I am thankful for the internet, which has caused me to meet many new people from across the globe. Some experiences have been rather shocking, while some have impacted my life in a way that has made me a better person.
13) I am thankful for being me - yes, I like me.

The bridge was designed by William Dempsey who was the UK consultant for South Australia. Steel pins were used, and other joints were bolted for easy erection.
